COLTS SECTION

The colts section at Egham caters for both boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 17 and there are currently over 100 children registered with the club.

The eight and nine years olds are introduced to the game through our Kwik Cricket section where basic cricket skills are taught with the emphasis on enjoyment. Children progress through bronze silver and gold awards. These are a series of awards based on pre determined skills levels. From there based on ability there is a natural progression to our Under 11 squad

The senior colts play in a number of competitions. The Under 11’s 13’s 15’s and 17’s play in the West Surrey Colts league.

The under 11’s also play in the Jim Warden trophy, a trophy which they have won on a couple of occasions recently.

The under 13’s play in The Ray Denne Cup which they won on three consecutive years from 2003 to 2005. They also play in the ECB Spirit of Cricket national competition.

The Under 15’s compete in the Weybridge Cup and the John Charcoal competitions.

Whilst the Under 17’s play only in the West Surrey League a number of the squad are involved in senior cricket. This is something that is actively encouraged throughout the club and a close link is held between the junior and senior sections.

All the coaches at Egham are CRB checked and we have a number of ECB qualified coaches ranging from Level 1 up to Level 3

Over the years a number of our colts have represented Surrey and Berkshire at County level and we have also currently one colt at Egham who has represented England as well as a past colt who has captained England in his age group.

As you can see the Colts section at Egham is a thriving and successful operation.
